Women of Reform Judaism: The Federation of Temple Sisterhoods has a long standing history of support for human and civil rights. The organization has fought discrimination against minorities and women, and has sought equal rights for all.

Since 1965 WRJ has taken specific stands in behalf of the civil rights of gay men and lesbian women.

In accordance with our history of strong human rights and civil rights resolutions, our policy of acceptance of all women in our congregations, and with particular reference to our resolution in 1991 on "The Rights of Gay Men and Lesbian Women" and our resolution in 1997, "Gay and Lesbian Rights" Women of Reform Judaism of Temple Israel supports the right of Gay Men and Lesbian Women to marry and calls upon its members to resist all efforts to amend the Massachusetts and United States Constitutions.
